DL-Tenerife 9. nap

 Utazás az Anaga hegyvidékre, ahol a nagy múltú Taganana nevű város van. Taganana a legelső városok között van megemlítve, már a spanyol hódítók előtt létezett. A városkának gazdag történelmi múltja van, de most csak egy nagyon távol eső kis település nagyon régi házakkal és templommal, valamint remek feketehomokos tengerparttal. 

Travel to the Anaga highlands, where there is a city called Taganana with a long history. Taganana is mentioned among the very first cities, it already existed before the Spanish conquistadors. The town has a rich historical past, but now it is just a very remote small settlement with very old houses and a church and a great black sand beach.

Mai vezetőnk, Dominik, már előre üzent, hogy ne csapjon be minket a jelenlegi főváros, Santa Cruz, időjárása, ahol süt a nap és 30 fok van, Tagananán kelleni fog az esőkabát és a zárt cipő. Igy is olt, ahogy közeledtünk a szerpentines utakon a hegyi városka felé, lassan úgy fehéredett be minden a ködtől és úgy csökkent a hőmérséklet. Mire megérkeztünk, 21 fok volt és szitáló köd, de meleg ruhát mégse kívántunk, mert fülledt idő volt. 

Our guide today, Dominik, has already told us in advance that we should not be fooled by the weather of the current capital, Santa Cruz, where the sun is shining and it is 30 degrees, we will need a raincoat and closed shoes in Taganana. Even so, as we approached the mountain town on the serpentine roads, everything slowly turned white from the fog and the temperature dropped. When we arrived, it was 21 degrees and drizzling fog, but we still didn't want warm clothes, because it was sultry weather.

A buszmegálló melletti étteremben gyülekeztünk, lassan beért mindenki és négy fős csapatokat alkottunk, és az volt a feladatunk, hogy apró kártyák segítségével összerakjuk Taganana és környék történelmi idővonalát. Mire végeztünk, lassan, de biztosan megtudtuk, hogy az 1500-as évek elejéről már van feljegyzés, hogy itt nyugodt és rendezett élet folyt, és hogy az 1700-as években jöttek a spanyolok. Hozták a vallásukat, a szokásaikat és a katonáikat. Az történelem során többször megpróbálták elhódítani a spanyoloktól Tenerifét és a többi szigetet, de senkinek se sikerült, így békén is hagyták. A helyiekben nagyon erős az öntudat, a sziget ősi népének tartják magukat, de sajnos az elszigetelt és csöndes kisváros lassan elnéptelenedik. Az egyébként is kevés lélekszám is egyre fogyatkozik, a fiatalok már nem itt képzelik el a jövőjüket. 

We gathered in the restaurant next to the bus stop, everyone slowly got in and we formed teams of four, and our task was to put together the historical timeline of Taganana and its surroundings with the help of small cards. By the time we were done, we slowly but surely learned that there is already a record of a calm and orderly life here from the early 1500s, and that the Spanish came in the 1700s. They brought their religion, customs and soldiers. Throughout history, several attempts were made to conquer Tenerife and the other islands from the Spanish, but no one succeeded, so they were left alone. The locals have a very strong self-awareness, they consider themselves the ancient people of the island, but unfortunately the isolated and quiet small town is slowly depopulating. The already small population is dwindling, young people no longer imagine their future here.

A történelmi áttekintést növénytani áttekintés szőtte át, Dominik nagyon sokat mesélt a sziget növényeiről és természeti adottságairól. Egy valamiről nem hallottunk, az állatokról, nem véletlenül. Nagyon kevés állat él a szigeten, pedig szép, dús a növényzet és a hegyvidéken csapadék is van bőven. A legnagyobb állat a szigeten, amit láttam, és ebből is csak négy - öt darabot, az a sirály, azután pár galamb következett, néhány papagáj, kevés énekes madár, és nagyon sok gyík. Itt minden gyíkos, gyíkos bögre, szobor, ékszer, póló, törölköző, hűtőmágnes, hamutál, képeslap, plüss figura. Ez a sziget jelképe, mindenhol lehet találkozni vele.

The historical overview was interwoven with a botanical overview, Dominik told a lot about the plants and natural features of the island. One thing we haven't heard about is animals, not by chance. Very few animals live on the island, although the vegetation is beautiful and rich and there is plenty of rainfall in the mountains. The biggest animal on the island that I saw, and only four or five of them, was the seagull, followed by a few pigeons, a few parrots, a few singing birds, and a lot of lizards. All lizards, lizard mugs, statues, jewelry, t-shirts, towels, fridge magnets, ashtrays, postcards, plush figures here. This is the symbol of the island, you can meet it everywhere.

A túra végén a csapat fele elment a helyi busszal vissza Santa Cruzba, a másik fele, én is, maradtunk ebédelni. Találtunk egy kis éttermet, ahol összesen 15 féle ételből lehetett választani, de az mind helyi finomság volt, nagyon jót ebédeltünk. Ebéd után egy kisebb csapattal felkerestük a helyi strandot, ami vulkáni homokkal és sziklákkal van tele.  A víz elsőre hidegnek tűnt, he a küzdelem a hullámokkal kihevített minket, hatalmas ereje van a tengernek és csodaszép, még akkor is ha nem süt a nap.

At the end of the tour, half of the group took the local bus back to Santa Cruz, the other half, including me, stayed for lunch. We found a small restaurant where you could choose from a total of 15 types of food, but they were all local delicacies, we had a very good lunch. After lunch, we visited the local beach with a small group, which is full of volcanic sand and rocks.  The water seemed cold at first, but the struggle with the waves warmed us up, the sea has great power and it is beautiful, even when the sun is not shining.

Este nyolc után körbesétáltam a belvárosban és betértem egy pár helyi kocsmába, a vendéglátósok szinte egyáltalán nem beszélnek angolul, de kedvesek és segítőkészek. Mutogatva, fél szavakból megértük egymást.

After eight in the evening, I walked around the city center and visited a couple of local pubs, the waiters hardly speak English at all, but they are kind and helpful. By pointing, we understood each other with half words.
