Madeira CsT Day 10

 

Noha kornológiai sorrendben ez a kép nem alkalmas nyitóképnek, most azt szerettem volna, ha előnézetben ez jelenik meg. Azt, hogy hol is készült, később majd kiderül A választás oka amolyan búcsú Madeirától. Holnap véget fog érni az Erasmus+ kurzus, amire az utazásom második felében érkeztem, szombaton pedig hazautazunk. Egy rövid bejegyzést azért később még írok majd / Even though in a chronological order, this picture shouldn't be up here on the front, but I wanted to start with thise as a preview, for some reasons. Where it was shot? - I shall tell yo that later! This picture is also a sort of farewell to Madeira, as tomorrow will be the last day of the Erasmus+ course, I took part in during the second part of my travel. On saturday we are flying home, but I will issue a final entry on that

A tanfolyamunkon most nem annyira a tantermi munkán volt a hangsúlyt, ezért most nem prezentációkról és előadásokról, hanem a terepgyakorlatunkról illesztek majd be néhány képet. A terepgyakorlat klasszikus eleme a földrajzoktatásnak. Reggel együtt indultunk Santanába, ahol ezúttal nem az aranyos, háromszegletű házikókat néztük meg, hanem egy erdei tanösvénynek is beillő túraösvényre merészkedtünk. Sérgio legalább tucatnyi növényfajt mutatott be nekünk. Megtekinthettük az itteni levadákat, melyekhez hasonlókat korábban már a személyes útjaimon is láttam, majd ellátogattunk egy skanzenbe. 

Todays classes were less about presentations, so this time I'm not going to share slides, but rather the photos I made during our field-trip. A field-trip is a classic element of teaching geography. In the morning, we took the bus together to Santana, where we did not go to visit the lovely triangle shaped houses, but to take a path, resembling to a forest learning trail. Sérgio introduced us at least a doezen different types of plants. We also viewed the local levadas, which the like of I saw on my private tours, and at the and of the trail we have visited an open air museum. 

Tantermünk a természet / Today, nature was our classroom herself

Egy ausztrál akácfaj, aminek a levelei a növény növekedésével csodálatos metamorfózison esnek át, ahogyan az a képen is megfigyelhető. Mintha két teljesen külön növényt látnánk, de mégis egyek / This is an Australian accacia, which has it's leaves going to a metamorphosis while the tree itself is growin. We can see the change of leaves on the picture. Like we could see two different types of plants, but still they are the one and the same

Az áfonya itt kisebb, savanykásabb, de bőven akad / Blueberries are smaller and a bit sour, but the merit in good quantities  

Az erdőszéleken, ösvények mentén vadon növekednek azok a növények, amelyekért egy magyarországi kertészetben 5-10 ezer forintot is elkérhetnek / At the edges of the forests, and framing the sides of the paths, those plants we pay 5000 - 10 000 forints in a garden shop actually grow wild

Pici skanzen az erdő közepén / A lovely open air museum in the middle of the forest

Miután visszaértünk Funchalba, Petával rohamtempóban indultunk el a buszállomásra, ahonnan egészen Montéig zötykölődtünk. Monte Funchal egyik agglomerációs települése, ami lassan egybeolvad a várossal. Itt tiszteletünket róttuk le IV. Károly magyar király (I. Károly osztrák császár), az utolsó osztrák-magyar uralkodó sírja előtt, majd jegyet váltottunk a Monte Tropical Garden botanikus kertbe. Azt hiszem, hogy sehol nem készítettem eddig annyi fényképet az út során, mint itt, és még így is csak a trópusi kert szépségének csak egy töredékét sikerült megörökítenem. Ez részben annak is köszönhető, hogy túl sok volt a turista - mondom én, egy másik turista - , de részben annak is, hogy a teljes Gmail tárhelyem duplája is kevés lett volna ahhoz, hogy mindent lencsevégre kapjak. A Fanal erdő, Rabacal és a 25 csorgóból álló vízesés, a Pico Areeiro és a Pico Ruivo közötti túraútvonal mellett ez a hely versenybe száll a kedvenc madeirai látványosságom megtisztelő címért, de választani viszont nem szeretnék köztük. Vigyázat! Töménytelen mennyiségű kép következik!

After arriving back to Funchal, we were racing with Peta to the bus sttion, to take a bus to Monte. Monte is part of the agglomeration of Funchal, slowly merging into the bigger town. Here we have honored the resting place of Charles IV king of Hungary (first of his name as the emperor of Austria), the last austro-hungarian ruler. After doing so, we have changed tickets to the Monte Tropical Garden. I believe so, that at no other location did I take this many photos, while beeing here, but still I could catch on lenses only a part of the beautfy of the tropical botanical garden. This is partially due to the disturbingly high number of tourists present - complained another tourist - , but also due to the fact, that even my entire Gmail storage, multiplied by two, wouldn't be enough to store this many photos that I could take here. With Fanal Forest, Rabacal and the 25 Fontes Waterfall, and the tour from Pico Areeiro to Pico Ruivo, this place is a candidate on my top four list on the island, but I refuse to single out on of them as the best. Caution! Be carefull now! A swarm of pictures is coming up next!

Az Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Monte, IV. Károly nyughelye és szobormása. Többet nem írok az ő történetéről, mert Peta azt ígérte, hogy arról majd a saját bejegyzésében kicsit részletesebben beszámol. Érdemes lesz elolvasni! / The Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Monte, the resting place of Charles IV. and the statue of him. I wont mention more on his life and story, as Peta has promised to do so in her own entry. It will be worth reading!

Van néhány őrült portugál, akik úgy gondolják, hogy félig fonott, félig fából készült, leginkább kosárhoz hasonlatos szánon leszánkázni a 30 foknál is meredekebb lejtőkön jó móka. Őket nevezik úgy, hogy "carreiros".  Valamilyen rejtélyes okból kifolyólag ehhez vállalkozó szellemű turistákat is találnak, akik még fizetnek is ezért. A magam részéről úgy döntöttem, hogy ha már eddig megúsztam minden kalandot kéz- és lábtörés nélkül, akkor ezt most inkább kihagyom. Lehet, hogy az utasbiztosításom ezt nem fedezné / There are som crazy Portuguese, who think, that  a half braided, half carved of wood sled, that resembles a basket is suitable to slide down on slopes of 30 degrees or more, and this is actually fun. They are called the "carreiros". For some mysterious reason they actually find tourists, whe re ready to pay for this. On my own behalf, I have devided, that since so far I have managed all the tours witouth fracturing any of my limbs, I will pass on the opportuinty. I'm not sure if my travel insurance would have coverd that

Montéba akár sikló felvonóval is jöhettünk volna busz helyett, de az picivel költségesebb lett volna, többet kellett volna gyalogolnunk, és ráadásul már bezár az állomás a visszaindulás tervezett idejére. Így legfeljebb akkor vettük volna igénybe, ha minden kötél szakad... Illetve akkor biztosan nem!
/ One could reach Monte by cable car, but we have still decided on that we will come by bus, because it was cheaper, we did not had to walk that much to the station, and also because the station of the cable car would close before we could finish our program. (The last santance is a language related pun, that wouldn't work well in English. Sorry about that! ^^")

A Monte Trópusi Kert bejárata. Ez a botanikus kert a tegnapival ellentétben kevésbé a tudományos vonalat képviseli. A cél inkább az extravagancia és a látogatók lenyűgözése. Az itt élő növénykülönlegességeket mindenesetre így is nagyon sok botanikuskert megirigyelhetné a világon
/The entrance of the Monte Tropical Gardens. This botanical garden, unlike the one visited previously put's a smaller emphasis on the scientific aspect, and more on extravagance and fascination. Still, the unique plants growing here would be wellcomed in many botanical gardens around the world
