Prága – Megérkezés és 1. nap

Majdnem dél körül indult a vonatom a Nyugatiból Prágába, szóval nem kellett korán kelni. Hét óráig tart az út Prágába, ami nem sok, ha van pl. légkondi a vonaton. Akinek van helyjegye, az le is tud ülni, de rövidebb távokra sokan veszik igénybe helyjegy nélkül ezt a járatot. Így a vonat végig zsúfolásig tele volt. Ráadásul elég meleg volt, de azért ki lehetett bírni. Mivel tavaly ugyanennél a képzőnél választottam tanfolyamot, ugyanabban a szállodában foglaltam szobát, így nagy meglepetés nem ért. A főpályaudvartól pár percre van a villamosmegálló és pontosan a szálloda előtt áll meg. Alig 20 perc alatt már ott is voltam. A szobám ugyanazon a folyosón hárommal arrébb van, mint tavaly. A tér túloldalán van egy étterem, ahol még hagyományos cseh ételeket is lehet enni.

Óriási előnye ennek a szállodának, hogy az ablakomból látom az egyetem bejáratát, és ha elég lassan megyek, akkor is elég 10 perc arra, hogy odaérjek. És hát nem hajnalban kezdünk…
Mint kiderült, ugyanaz az indiai nő (Smriti) a trénere a csoportunknak, mint aki tavaly is volt. Ennek nagyon örültem, mert igazán szépen beszél angolul, elég jól értem. Kedves, ráadásul jó humora van. Ketten is vagyunk a csoportban, akik már voltak itt, ez azért jó bizonyítvány a számukra. Az idei kurzus címe: Teaching Next Generations Skills-Creating Expert Learners.

Az elején nagyon jó ismerkedési játékot játszottunk, közben megtanultuk a neveket, megtudtuk, ki honnan jött. Van a csoportban három török, egy ciprusi, egy albán, két olasz, két spanyol, valamint három és fél magyar és egy fél „francia”, aki igazából egyáltalán nem az. Ez utóbbi némi magyarázatra szorul azért. Júlia a bemutatkozáskor elmondta, hogy Franciaországból jött, kedvence a „kürtős kalács” – és ezt akcentus nélkül mondta. Kiderült, hogy Sepsiszentgyörgyön született, anyukája magyar, apukája román, és ő gyerekkorában először magyarul tanult meg. Az egyetem befejezése után ment ki Franciaországba, Ceaușescu bukása után. Ebben a csoportban is én vagyok a legöregebb, viszont azok közül, akik nem angolt tanítanak, a legjobban tudok angolul, amire azért egy kicsit büszke vagyok.

A kurzus pedagógiai és módszertani képzést nyújt. Tulajdonképpen a ma iskolája olyan szakmákra készíti fel a tanulókat, amik esetleg ma még nem is léteznek. Tehát amellett, hogy mit tanítunk, nagyon fontos az, hogy hogyan. Erre kapunk különböző ötleteket, jól használható metódusokat.

Az első nap délutánja egy két és fél órás városnézéssel folytatódott. Már három alkalommal vettem részt vezetett városnézésen Prágában, ez alulmúlta mindet. Azt hiszem, ha ki kellett volna találni egy olyan útvonalat az egyetemtől a várig, ahol a legkevesebb érdekesség és látnivaló van, nehéz lett volna másikat találni. Láttunk egy jelentéktelen emlékművet, az albán és a francia nagykövetségeket, és na jó a parlamentet, ami látványban egy többemeletes bérház, csak a zászlók árulkodnak arról, hogy itt valami van. Arról meg inkább nem is írok, hogy melyik épületen milyen zászlók vannak, mert nem értem a logikáját. Egy óra után a magyar szakasz levált a keménymagról. A Károly-híd lábánál jobbra vettük az irányt. Megtaláltuk Prága legszűkebb utcáját, ahol lámpa jelzi, mikor melyik irányból lehet menni, mert két nem csontsovány ember már nem fér el egymás mellett. A sikátor egy Čertovka (Ördög) nevű étterembe vezet, ami a hasonló nevű csatorna partján található. Mellettünk csorogtak el a kis sétahajók.

 

  

Prague - Arrival and Day 1

My train from Nyugati to Prague left almost around noon, so I didn't have to get up early. The journey to Prague takes seven hours, which is not much if you have e.g. air conditioning on the train. Anyone who has a seat ticket can sit down, but many people use this flight without a seat ticket for shorter distances. So the train was full all the way. it was quite hot, but bearable. Since I chose a course at the same training school last year, I booked a room in the same hotel, so it wasn't a big surprise. The tram stop is a few minutes from the main station and stops right in front of the hotel. I was there in less than 20 minutes. My room is on the same corridor three times further than last year. Across the square there is a restaurant where you can also eat traditional Czech food.

A huge advantage of this hotel is that I can see the entrance to the university from my window, and even if I walk slowly enough, 10 minutes is enough to get there. And we don't start at dawn...

As it turned out, the trainer for our group is the same Indian woman (Smriti) as last year. I was very happy about that, because he speaks English really well, I understand it quite well. He is kind and has a good sense of humor. There are two of us in the group who have been here before, so this is a good certificate for them. The title of this year's course is: Teaching Next Generations Skills-Creating Expert Learners.

At the beginning, we played a very good game of getting to know each other, learning the names and finding out who came from where. There are three Turks in the group, one Cypriot, one Albanian, two Italians, two Spaniards, as well as three and a half Hungarians and one half "French", who are not really French at all. The latter needs some explanation. When introducing herself, Júlia said that she came from France and that her favorite is "trumpet cake" - and she said this without an accent. It turned out that he was born in Sepsiszentgyörgy, his mother is Hungarian, his father is Romanian, and he learned Hungarian for the first time as a child. After finishing university, he went to France, after the fall of Ceaușescu. I'm also the oldest in this group, but among those who don't teach English, I know English the best, which I'm a little proud of.

The course provides pedagogical and methodological training. In fact, today's school prepares students for professions that may not even exist today. So, in addition to what we teach, how we teach is very important. For this, we get different ideas and easy-to-use methods.

The afternoon of the first day continued with a two and a half hour city tour. I've already been on a guided city tour in Prague three times, and this one surpassed them all. I think that if you had to find a route from the university to the castle with the fewest points of interest and sights, it would have been difficult to find another. We saw an insignificant monument, the Albanian and French embassies, and well, the parliament, which visually is a multi-story apartment building, only the flags reveal that there is something here. I'd rather not write about what flags are on which building, because I don't understand the logic. After an hour, the Hungarian section separated from the hard core. We turned right at the foot of the Károly Bridge. We found the narrowest street in Prague, where a light indicates when you can go in which direction, because two non-skinny people can no longer fit next to each other. The alley leads to a restaurant called Čertovka (Devil), which is located on the banks of the canal of the same name. Small pleasure boats trickled past us.
